- Hot coffee1 cup
- Butter1/2 cup
- Unsweetened cocoa powder1/4 cup
- Powdered sugar4 cups
- Milk1/4 cup
- Chopped pecans or walnuts1 cup

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 15x10 inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate bowl, combine buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Stir in the hot coffee until the batter is smooth.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
While the cake is baking, prepare the frosting. In a saucepan, melt butter and cocoa powder over medium heat.
Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
Stir in chopped pecans or walnuts.
Pour the warm frosting over the warm cake. Let cool slightly before cutting into squares and serving.
