- Shish Barak (Meat Dumplings)1 lb
- Plain Yogurt (Full Fat)32 oz
- Cornstarch2 tbsp
- Water1/4 cup
- Dried Mint2 tbsp
- Garlic4 cloves
- Olive Oil2 tbsp
- Salt1 tsp
- Black Pepper1/2 tsp

In a medium bowl, whisk together the yogurt, cornstarch, and water until smooth. This prevents the yogurt from separating during cooking.
Mince the garlic cloves.
Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic to the pot and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Pour the yogurt mixture into the pot and stir constantly until it comes to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and continue stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
Gently add the shish barak (meat dumplings) to the simmering yogurt sauce. Make sure they are submerged.
Cover the pot and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the dumplings are cooked through and tender.
Stir in the dried mint, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
Serve hot, garnished with extra dried mint or a drizzle of olive oil, if desired.
