Wash the lemons thoroughly. Roll them on a counter with a little pressure to help release the juice.

Cut the lemons in half and squeeze out all the juice using a reamer or citrus juicer. Strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any pulp and seeds. You should aim for about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.

In a large pitcher, combine the strained lemon juice, cold water, and maple syrup. Start with 1/4 cup of maple syrup and add more if you prefer a sweeter lemonade.

Stir well until the maple syrup is fully dissolved and the ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness or tartness as desired. You can add more maple syrup for sweetness or a splash more lemon juice for extra tang.

Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving, or serve immediately over ice.
