  • Brandy1/2 cup
  • Maraschino cherry juice1/4 cup
  • Orange juice1/4 cup
  • Brown sugar1/4 cup
  • Dijon mustard2 tablespoons
  • Apple cider vinegar1 tablespoon
  • Worcestershire sauce1 tablespoon
  • Smoked paprika1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder1/2 teaspoon
  • Onion powder1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil1 tablespoon

Method

Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.

In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.

Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear the ribs on all sides until browned.

In a medium bowl, whisk together brandy, maraschino cherry juice, orange juice, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce.

Pour the sauce over the ribs in the pot. Bring to a simmer, then cover tightly with a lid or aluminum foil.

Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 - 3 hours, or until the ribs are very tender and the meat is easily pulled from the bone.

Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 15 minutes before serving. Spoon extra sauce over the ribs before serving.
